During the early morning hours of February 2, 2008, while most Mardi Gras revelers were recovering from the night before, King Zanie XIV Allen Taylor, Big Daddy 14 Benton Vandiver, and other Royalty and Krewe members descended upon Strand Street in front of the Trumpets Building in Galveston. Perpetuating one of Z Krewe's long-standing traditions, the Z Krewe logo was incorporated into this year's Mardi Gras theme of "Pirates," and the spot for the Royal Toast was thusly created!
