On February 19, 2009, at the Galveston City Council Meeting, Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas proclaimed February 21, 2009 - the second Saturday of the Mardi Gras celebration - as "Z Krewe Day" in Galveston.
The official proclamation was read, and Z Krewe Royalty and members presented the Krewe's poster and 2009 medallions to members of City Council.
